The third biannual project meeting was hosted by the Finnish Geospatial Research Institute (FGI) in Helsinki, Finland. During the first meeting day, the BONUS BASMATI group was accompanied by Meelis Sirendi from the BONUS Secretariat. He observed the project partners’ updates about the latest news of each work package, including the project coordinator’s thoughts about the first financial report of the BONUS BASMATI project. In the afternoon, FGI presented the latest demo version of the Baltic Explorer tool, and the discussions related to the tool development continued during the entire project meeting.
The second day of the meeting included internal workshops of each BONUS BASMATI work package. A deliverable was finalized, new workshops were agreed upon, and plans for the future activities were made. The day was finished with a trip to the beautiful island of Suomenlinna.
The last meeting day started with two BONUS BASMATI PhD students presenting their PhD plans and the first results of their work. Both presentations raised positive feedback from the selected opponents and were followed by a lively discussion among the project partners. The last sessions of the meeting consisted of the project coordinator’s updates on the management issues and discussion about the future activities in the project.
